The Project EU GAMES will continue the main mission of 3 previous JMP ((EUclass; Beyond EUClass; EU-Wide EUclass), namely to spread the knowledge on EU issues among high school students developing new instruments and methodologies to tackle EU issues.
Project’s goals
The project objectives are:
to increase students’ knowledge and affection towards EU issues
to increase teachers’ competences to teach EU issues at school using active learning methodologies
to support students to become independent learners, to develop critical thinking and cooperative skills.
Activites
The project will follow these steps:
TRAINING FOR EU GAMES COACHES 10 university students will participate in a training activity addressed to transfer to the participants the knowledge and the competences to support schools students in the preparation before the quiz;
EU GAMES INTRODUCTION academic and EU experts will carried out an introduction on EU subjects and will illustrate the games rules (24 seminars for a total of approximately 720 school students);
EU GAMES COACHING ACTIVITIES after the selection of the classes involved the university students will support the classes selected to prepare themselves before the final;
EU TEACHERS CONFERENCE 30 teachers will take part at this residential conference aiming to increase the knowledge of EU as an object and subject of teaching;
EU GAMES the final will involve 8 schools (140 students) and will be organised in a Quiz format;
EU LEARNING WEEK 40 students will attend an intensive learning programme.
In parallel to this events, a dissemination plan will be delivered in order to spread project activities (through website, travelling exhibition, storytelling video journal on EU issues for students).
