VET Schools Doing Green is the European project that aims to contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally conscious future through education and hands-on projects.
By raising teachers’ awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and empowering students by encouraging them to develop their own projects and initiatives in line with the SDGs.
By integrating sustainable practices and values into professional education, the project seeks to foster a sense of responsibility and environmental awareness among students and staff.
1. Encourage VET staff to give explicit time to promoting sustainable and environmental skills, attitudes, and values in VET curricula;
2. include the themes of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) in curricula through active teaching (students are the protagonists) and cross-curricular content (interdisciplinary knowledge to enable students to link knowledge across disciplines);
3. include sustainability and “green” skills in assessment.
1) Increase staff awareness by organizing 4 Staff Weeks that will be organized in pairs and each pair will include one country from Southern and one from Northern Europe. The first week of each pair will be dedicated to learning and training, the second to practice: staff members, with the help of some experts, will create “green tasks” for students.
2) Outreach to students through a 5-month experimentation period and then a Students Week. Students will be involved in their own CFP in developing different activities and projects, sometimes involving companies and even the local community.
